Ouchi Juku

Ouchi, Shimo Goumachi, Minami Aizu gun, Fukushima prefecture. 大内宿:〒969−5207 福島県南会津町郡下郷町大内

Ouchi was a famous for its inns along the Shimono Kaido Highway in the Edo period (1603-1867). The area has been spared from developmental changes from the Meiji era (1868-1912) and still remains as it was back in the day. A great spot to spend the day; one can enjoy food (Negi-soba: soba noodles with leek is a famous dish of the area!), the scenery and of course the drive through nature (and the mountains) to the venue.
