Not everything has to cost money when you are travelling, and as someone once said, ‘the best things in life are free’. Here are some of the best views of Japan’s infamous land marks;

Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji from a distance; Make your way to Tachikawa Green Springs facility, which boasts a secluded deck on the top floor, with wooden stairs to sit on and observe the town lined with mountains. In the distance, if the weather prevails, Mount Fuji is clear and visible. Sit on the step and gaze to your heart’s content; it’s free and a great way to wind down after a day of exploring.
(The restuarants in the same facility are open until late; there is also a bar located on the corner of the deck with a wide front window looking out on the same view of mountains)

Tokyo Tower
Shiba Kōen: Bring a picnic blanket and a coffee, and head to Shiba Koen. Tokyo Tower stands gracefully right before your eyes. Easily accessible from Hamamatsu-chō station, a great way to wind down after a day of exploring Tokyo (it doesn’t cost a cent either!)

Tokyo Skytree
Tokyo Skytree:from the base to the top: There are entry fees incurred when climbing Tokyo Skytree, as is with other famous monuments. However, it is just as interesting to look at the structure from gound zero; gaze up at the 634 meter metal point and wonder how it was built. Oshiage is the closest station to Tokyo Skytree, however the areas surrounding the structure, such as around the Sumida river are very pleasant to walk around; there are many hidden shops and cafés for one to explore.
